FreedomPop’s CEO took time out of his busy day to talk to RCR Wireless. The interview was recorded on video and you can watch it by going to the link at the end of this article. According to an interview on RCR Wireless, FreedomPop is ready for massive expansion. They make money but not from selling every service. In fact most of the talk, text and data are being given away. FreedomPop makes most of their money from selling other services like international numbers that are used to call locally.
Here is how this works. Let’s say you have family in Canada or Mexico. You get a local number from FreedomPop that is local to you. Next you add a number that is local to the area where you family lives. These two numbers are forwarded together. When your family calls you, they call the number that is local to them. Once that happens, you are talking on the local number and everyone is saving money. FreedomPop is making money because they have sold you an international number. It creates a situation where everyone wins.
Stephen Stokols, the CEO and co-founder of the mobile virtual network operator FreedomPop gave an interview and he talked openly about the company’s business model and the massive expansion plan. FreedomPop was a small start up company that is not quickly heading towards global domination.
Many people wonder about their business model and it’s profitability because they are giving away the same text messages, talk time and data that other cell phone companies are charging top dollar for. However Stephen Stokols says in the interview that the company is profitable and will continue to be in the future.
